Fourth time in Los Angeles. This not just for E3, I had time to visit San Diego, Farmer’s Market, Rodeo Drive, and some other typical places.
Here are some pics, first with a breakfast at JW Marriott @LA Live where I had the chance to stay five nights, then the Convention Center one week before E3 and finally a night view from the hotel Standard’s rooftop, a very nice place to come drink and lightly eat at the sixteenth floor surrounded by Downtown’s buildings.
Did you watch the movie 127 hours? Maybe those pics reminds you something familiar.
You’re going in Lower Antelope Canyon near Lake Powell almost like in the movie. Fortunately you don’t lose an arm down there… The place is amazing and disturbing at the same time.
Btw, which animal appears on the last pic?!
More than 3000kms, more than the US east coast, that’s the length of Lake Powell’s coast.
This artificial lake is so big that it took 17 years to fill it up and today you can enjoy it with many beaches, cruises or boat rent.
The nature is here completely modified by humans who transformed many big and impressive canyons into on huge lake with a memorable dam. If I remember good it’s the second lake and second dam of the US by size.
You can enjoy the Lone Rock (pic 1), or the Antelope Canyon by boat (pic 2) and the dam (pic 3) with a cruise on water during 1h30 (less than 40$) ; or you can rent jet-skis and big familly boats for more fun!
Forget about Grand Canyon. From Las Vegas, rent a car and after three hours driving you can enjoy Bryce Canyon and his amazing « amphitheater ».
The view is really impressive and you can walk inside it with many trails more or less difficult and long. In two hours you can see above, inside, feel like a very little thing surrounded by big rocks and an astonishing nature.
Be careful, Bryce Canyon is in high altitude, you’ll maybe have some difficulties to breath with effort…
